Housing Public Hearing

The Committee on Housing will hold a Public Hearing on the following Legislation:

  • B25-0045, the “Banning Associations from Banning Youth Amendment Act of 2023″
  • B25-0074, the “Fairness in Renting Clarification Amendment Act of 2023”
  • B25-0113, the “Community Land Trusts’ Access and Homeowner Support Amendment Act of 2023”

The Committee invites the public to testify remotely or to submit written testimony. Anyone wishing to testify must sign up at must sign up at bit.ly/coh_signup or by phone at (202) 727-8270, and provide their name, phone number or e-mail, organizational affiliation, title (if any), and personal pronouns by the close of business on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023. Witnesses are encouraged, but not required, to submit their testimony in writing electronically in advance to housing@dccouncil.gov. Witnesses will participate remotely via Zoom. The Committee will follow-up with witnesses with additional instructions on how to provide testimony in advance of the proceeding.

Judiciary & Public Safety Roundtable

The Committee on the Judiciary & Public Safety will hold a Roundtable on the following Legislation:

The Committee invites the public to testify or to submit written testimony, which will be made a part of the official record. Anyone wishing to testify should contact Ms. Aukima Benjamin, Committee Manager to the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety, at least 24 hours prior to the start of the roundtable at (202) 724-8058 or via e-mail at judiciary@dccouncil.gov; witnesses will receive information on how to join the roundtable at that time. Witnesses who anticipate needing language interpretation, or requiring sign language interpretation, are requested to inform the Committee of the need as soon as possible but no later than five business days before the roundtable, which is May 11, 2023. We will make every effort to fulfill timely requests; however, requests received in less than five business days may not be fulfilled and alternatives may be offered.
