Health Public Oversight Hearing

The Committee on Health will hold a Public Oversight Hearing on the following Boards:

  • Board of Dentistry
  • Board of Optometry
  • Board of Respiratory Care
  • Board of Professional Counseling
  • Board of Marriage and Family Therapy

Those who wish to testify must register at http://bit.do/HealthHearings by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 6. Those representing an organization will have 5 minutes to speak. All other witnesses will have 3 minutes to peak. Witnesses who anticipate needing spoken language interpretation, or require sign language interpretation, are requested to inform the Committee office of the need as soon as possible but no later than five business days before the proceeding. We will make every effort to fulfill timely requests, although alternatives may be offered. Requests received in less than five business days may not be fulfilled. Judiciary & Public Safety Public Hearing

The Committee on the Judiciary & Public Safety will hold a Public Hearing on the following Legislation:

  • Bill 25-42, the “Grounds for Divorce, Legal Separation, and Annulment Amendment Act of 2023”
  • Bill 25-44, the “Vulnerable Youth Guardianship Protection Amendment Act of 2023”

The Committee invites the public to testify or to submit written testimony, which will be made a part of the official record. Anyone wishing to testify should contact Ms. Aukima Benjamin, Committee Manager to the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety, at least 24 hours prior to the start of the hearing at (202) 724-8058 or via e-mail at judiciary@dccouncil.gov; witnesses will receive information on how to join the hearing at that time. Witnesses who anticipate needing language interpretation, or requiring sign language interpretation, are requested to inform the Committee of the need as soon as possible but no later than five business days before the hearing, which is June 1, 2023.
